Thank You for Joining Us at An Evening of Indigenous Cinema

Thank you to everyone who came out to The Autry Museum for An Evening of Indigenous Cinema. The night felt meaningful because of the people who filled the space with conversation, curiosity, and support for Indigenous storytelling.

We started the evening with a reception where guests had the chance to meet the filmmakers, share conversations, take photos, and enjoy amazing food prepared by Chef Pyet. It created a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for the rest of the night.

Once we moved into the theater, Bird Runningwater opened the screenings and guided us into the world of the three Academy qualified short films. Each film brought its own perspective and story, and having everyone experience them together added to the impact in the room.

After the screenings, Bird led a thoughtful discussion with each filmmaker. His questions helped everyone dive a little deeper into the creative process and the meaning behind the stories. We appreciated how engaged the audience was and how open the conversation felt.

To close the night, Terry shared a hoop dance performance that brought a beautiful sense of culture and movement to the event. It was a special way to end the evening and we are grateful to everyone who stayed to experience it.

Thank you again for spending your night with us, for supporting Indigenous cinema, and for being part of this community. We look forward to sharing more moments and stories with you in the future.
