This special event celebrates Indigenous voices in film, featuring three Academy qualified short films from acclaimed Indigenous filmmakers. Each story offers a unique and powerful perspective on identity, resilience, and culture.

Tiger
Directed by Loren Waters
This inspiring documentary highlights artist and elder Dana Tiger, her family, and the resurgence of the iconic Tiger T Shirt Company, a legacy of strength and art that continues to empower future generations.

Directed by Joey Clift
A colorful and fast-paced animated short that follows a young Native American boy scrambling to charge his video game console at a Coastal Salish intertribal powwow. Both humorous and heartfelt, it’s a reminder of the intersections between tradition and modern life.

Courage
Directed by Eric Michael Hernandez
Inspired by true events, Courage tells the story of a young Native boy struggling with confidence and belonging. Through the art of Hoop Dance, guided by his uncle, he learns to embrace his heritage and find the courage within himself.

After the screenings, enjoy a panel discussion moderated by Bird Runningwater, one of the leading voices for Indigenous representation in the film industry. The conversation will explore the importance of Indigenous storytelling, creative process, and cultural influence in cinema today.
