Eric Hernandez Performs at the 2025 Global Citizen Festival in New York City

On September 27, 2025, Eric Hernandez had the honor of joining MAG7 at the Global Citizen Festival in New York City’s Central Park. Performing before a crowd of more than 60,000 people, the night was a historic celebration of Indigenous voices, resilience, and music.

The festival opened with members of the Lenape Tribe and The Youngblood Singers, grounding the global stage in the lands and traditions of the original peoples of New York.

The momentum continued as MAG7, an Indigenous supergroup formed by Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas, came together once again. Six of the seven original members performed with Eric under the banner of Back Together!

About MAG7:

  • Drezus — Plains Cree Nation

  • PJ Vegas — Shoshone / Yaqui

  • Kahara Hodges — Diné (Navajo) Nation

  • Doc Native — Seminole Tribe of Florida

  • Spencer Battiest — Seminole Tribe of Florida

  • Emcee One — Osage / Potawatomi Nations

Although Taboo and Supaman were not present, the group carried forward their legacy with pride. Known for their groundbreaking anthem “Stand Up / Stand N Rock” which won an MTV VMA in 2017, MAG7’s reunion reminded the world that Indigenous artists belong on every stage, from community gatherings to global movements.

Eric’s performance with MAG7 marked a powerful moment in the festival’s history. Together, they brought unity, visibility, and hope to one of the most significant music events of the year, showing that Indigenous stories and songs continue to shape and uplift the global stage.
